The Pamlab Story

Pan American Laboratories, Inc. was founded in 1957. Over the succeeding 30 years, numerous prescription cough/cold products were introduced to prescribing physicians in Louisiana. In 1987, the Company was purchased by Samuel and Judith Camp, who recognized the need for product line expansion and a professional field sales force. Over the next 10 years, the Covington, Louisiana based Pan American Laboratories grew substantially and profitably, becoming a trusted name among thousands of physicians throughout the Southeast.

In 1996, the Company developed a new strategic plan, leading to the development of a national field sales force and the licensing of a series of patents on the therapeutic use of folate and B12 in various chronic diseases. Growth and profits accelerated over the next 5 years, and in 2001, Pamlab, L.L.C. was formed as a corporate holding company. Pan American Laboratories, L.L.C., now a wholly-owned subsidiary, continued to employ the sales force, keeping the 40 year tradition and name recognition alive in the eyes of some 30,000 prescribing physicians. In 2002, the Company licensed patents and other rights to Metafolin®, a proprietary form of active folate, and subsequently launched several prescription medical foods containing Metafolin® throughout the U.S. In late 2007, Pamlab expanded with the acquisition of Red River Pharma, L.L.C., a Shreveport, Louisiana based developer and manufacturer of prescription medical foods.

Today, Pamlab is a fully integrated pharmaceutical company, with approximately 300 employees, specializing in prescription medical foods. Pamlab's products are marketed and sold nationally, helping hundreds of thousands of patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, dementia, depression, high-risk pregnancy and other diseases and conditions.
